BIOLOGY
1. History of cell Biology. Chemical organisation of the cell: Inorganic annd organic constituents . Macromolecules in the Cell. Colloid nature of the protoplasm.
2.Techniques in cell Biology.:
Principles of microscopy. Different types of optical system for the study of cellular organization. Fundamentals of electron microscopy. Chemistry of fixation and staining. Cytochemical techniques to study nucleic acids, proteins lipids and carbohydrates. Tissue culture methods. Use of radioactive precursers and autoradiography. Cell fractionation and Characterization of cellular constituents.
3. Structure of cellular constituents:
"Plasma membrane, endoplamic reticulum ribosomes lysosomes. Golgi complex Mitochondria, Centrioles, Basal granules, cilium and flagellum" Cell Physiology: Cellular respiration, cell permeability, endocy tosis, lysosomes, Kinetic elements and celular movements, cell secretion.
