Web Careers

Web Marketing Executive

Fancy marketing for contests2win.com?? All you have to do is meet the client, get a brief, understand the kind of contest they need, the target audience and so on. Back in your office, you meet and explain stuff to the creative team. The client gets the contest as desired and everyone is happy!!

This, my dear is just one aspect of the job a Web Marketing Exec does. Whether you are involved in selling subscriptions to lawyers, selling apartments, interacting with ad agencies to create, marketing and ad strategies and selecting media - you will invariably come across many clients who aren’t tech-savvy. What you’ll need then is excellent marketing and communication skills to market your site/portal to prospective clients (not all that easy!!) web_market.gif (2718 bytes)

Dot coms are on the lookout for those with an MBA degree. You could also be a graduate with marketing experience. Any other technical knowledge like programming or graphics will be an added advantage - makes it easier for you to co-ordinate between the client and your team.

You will need to join a basics course in computers and learn to use the standard office applications as well as surf the net.

As a fresher, you’ll get 5-6 grand. If you have a year’s experience in other marketing assignments, you could ask for 10-12 grand. Within 2 years you can jump from marketing exec to Asst. Manager earning 25-30 grand. Let me warn you - this will not be the scene always.
