The LIFE LINE shows, instead of the LENGTH of life, rather its quality, its strength and intensity.LACUNAE in the line may show problems pertaining to health, or may reveal major changes to come in the owner’s life.A line of both good length and depth denotes rude health throught one’s life.

The HEART LINE is the higher of the two broadly horizantal lines, and the curves from near the base of the Index Finger to the percussive edge of the hand . This line shows emotional characteristics , in particular those pertaining to the affairs of the heart.If the line is straight then the heart is ruled by the head; if it is weak or faded then the person is insecure in their emotions. Do not trust your heart to one whose Heart Line possesses little chains, for they will be fickle with their affections. Breaks in the line show a broken heart; but be comforted, for the Line will recommence before too long!

The head line is the lower of the two horizontal lines and begins close to, and is often conjoined with, the life line. This Line gives a clear picture of the strength of the person's mind and will. If it should lie straight, then its owner will be possessed of a fine, logical, analytical mind; if it curves down towards the mount of luna then the mental faculties will be more intuitive and imaginative. If its beginning is within the Life Line this shows no harm, unless the separation of the two be much delayed, which denotes the late de-velopment of its owner. If it begins well above the Life Line, the person will be strongly independent, per-haps even Reckless; but if below, they will habitually display nervousness.

BEWARE of the person whose Heart and Head Lines are one, a deep and angry slashing across the Palm, for this person will be extreme in his beliefs, his emotions and his behaviour. Whatever he approaches it will be with unreasoning single-minded devotion and intensity, and he will brook no argument or opposition.

The fate line should start at or near the wrist and pass more-or-less vertically through the hollow of the Palm (the plain of mars) to end near the base of the Middle ( saturn) Finger. A well-formed Line shows responsibility and success in one's career; a gentleman with this Line will be a good provider for his family. If the Line starts at the wrist it shows self-reliance; if from the Life Line, it betokens strong family influences, perhaps a career in the family ' business. If starting from the MOUNT OF LUNA, it shows a changeable career with much uncertainly, perhaps in the arts. If it begins high up the Hand it shows a late start and much hard labour needed to bring success in one's career.
