(1964), is world renowned for her silent, powerful protest against the Myanmar military junta. Her years in the college were vital in crafting her into the political entity she is today. Geeta Chandran, Bharatnatyam dance exponent gives her alma mater, LSR, credit for helping her to reach personhood. Harmala Gupta, a pioneer in the field of Cancer support, admits that coming to LSR was like a whole new world opening up. The college armed her with a confidence to face the future , no matter what it had to offer .
