I thought I should start with an overview of Jaipur the supposed pink city.

Well, Jaipur today is at a stage through which every metropolitan city's gone through. It's still in a transition state from traditionalism to modernity; from conservative ideas to broad minded views. You can go to Apna Hanuman Dhaba or you can freak out at Pizza Hut. You can find guys in traditional dhoti kurta on CBZ'S.

In fact Jaipur is already on the path to acquiring a fresh new look. Actually it's been declared a heritage city by the central government last month. Plans are to maintain historical buildings of architectural value while modernizing the rest of the city to attract tourists. You should look at the speed with which highways are being built, streets being widened, buildings being renovated that u start realizing that some kind of a government body does exist after all !

Education imparted here is good. As compared to Gujrat and Maharashtra the courses are tough at school as well as college level. However the subject options are limited. Among the reputed colleges for girls are (in order of preference) Maharani's college, Kanodia college, International college for girls (ICG) and Vedic Kanya. For guys the colleges are Maharaja's college, Commerce college, Subodh college etc. These colleges basically offer you admission for courses in BSc, B.Com, B.A, B.Fa etc.

Then we have a regional engineering college here... Malviya Regional Engg. College which stands 6th among all the regional colleges in India. Actually the placements are quite plum. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, Mahindra British Telecom (MBT) etc. are known to recruit during campus after a process of checking comprising of aptitude tests and interviews. Moreover we have around 7 private engineering colleges starting this year onwards( though waiting for government approval as on date)

There are also a whole lot of computer courses coming up. The leading training providers being Systems, NIIT, Aptech etc. offering latest software training. These courses are (like in other parts of India) very popular here.

One more thing...(and maybe the clinching deal) to add to the chain of our favorite hangouts of Pizza hut, Wimpi's, Four seasons, Celebrations etc. We have...guess what???????? We have McDonald's here...after Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, Jaipur is the next one in line.

So if you are looking for a quaint destination for your education coupled with the warmth (or should I say the "heat") of the Indian summer, good Rajasthani food, a traditional community and yet enough opportunities for having FUN...do come to Jaipur!!
